Brief general information

The expected hospital stay is about 3 days. Information about the Anaesthetist scheduled for the surgery will be available about one week before the actual procedure. Outpatient clinics will be arranged by our office. First follow up for skin clip removal is usually about 12 days after the surgery. Dressings to remain dry for 3 weeks after the surgery (no shower). Outpatient physiotherapy will be arranged if required. Patients decide if and when driving is safe and when they are fit to go back to work. Compression stockings are advised for 6 weeks after surgery. Canes, crutches or walking frames are advised for safe mobilization. It is an individual decision if and when patients are ready to mobilize without walking aid. Flights are not advised 6 weeks before or after surgery.
